It is the color of optimism, abundance and hope. Green is vitality and is associated with plants, trees, enjoyment as well as comfort and peace. According to astrologers, the year of the green wooden dragon is a year of transformation, change and surprise. Either way, we wish the surprise to be pleasant and bring us joy and a good start.
I’ve made it a bit of a tradition to depict a Chinese calendar sign every year. The calendar signs are full of deep symbolism and relate to many elements that I find tempting to illustrate. Basically, the calendar is divided into two energy halves, yin and yang. The dragon is associated with YAN, which is the light masculine principle, and YIN is the dark feminine principle. I have drawn this lucky dragon which I call to bring you much happiness, positive change, success and most of all balance and unity to accompany you throughout 2024.
